Enquiries for baptisms, weddings and funerals should be made to the vicar in the first instance.

In person

Come to the door in an emergency, or by appointment. Most in person appointments take place in Church so that social distancing is possible.

At Church

Please let the vicar know in advance if you are making a special journey. He is usually available either before the service at Kirk Smeaton or after the service at Darrington and Wentbridge.

Genealogy and Family History.

The records of the various churches are held by the West Yorkshire Archive Service in Wakefield, and can be accessed online.

Please consult the Pontefract and District Historical Society who produce booklets of grave inscriptions, and baptism registers for the various churches.

If you would like to visit the churches and look inside please phone or email a couple of weeks in advance.

The Churchwardens can be contacted in person at Church, as can the PCC Secretaries. Details of the Parish Safeguarding Officers are on the Safeguarding page of this website.

The organist at Darrington can be seen there after most Sunday services. For details of the florists please email the vicar.
