The Benefice of the Went Valley

The Benefice is part of the Diocese of Leeds in the Church of England. If you live in one of the constituent parishes this is your parish Church.

There have been Churches in Darrington and Kirk Smeaton since the 11th century and in Wentbridge since the 16th century. These historic Churches are ideal locations for baptisms, weddings and funerals. Please contact the vicar to enquire about these services. The Church also welcomes you for Sunday and midweek worship, for wedding blessings and occasional visitors. The Church welcomes you in times of joy and happiness as well as need and sorrow. Come as you are, make new friends, be part of your local Church family.

Come as you are, you will be made very welcome. The Went Valley parishes are inclusive Churches where all are made welcome, irrespective of anything that  makes others regard them as different.
